Description of Garment:
Black Jeans w/ a Powdered Metallic Coating
Care Label Instructions: "Machine Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Warm"
Problem: These jeans contain a powdered metallic coating. The adhesive binder used to affix the coating to the fabric failed when this garment was wetcleaned and dried in accordance with the care label instructions. This resulted in the loss of the metallic coating
Responsibility: The manufacturer's. These jeans proved to be unserviceable due to the water soluble and heat sensitive nature of the adhesive binder.
Recommendation: If these jeans prove to be unserviceable when processed as instructed by the care label, they should be returned to their place of purchase for a refund or exchange.
Drycleaner: Advise the customer that the above-mentioned damage may occur during the wetcleaning process. Because of the possible serviceability issues concerning this garment, we suggest that a signed release of liability be obtained from the customer prior to its acceptance for processing.
