Description of Garment:
Denim Shorts w/ Printed Design
Manufacturer: Brooklyn Express
RN#: 121381
Care Label Instructions: "Machine Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low"
Problem: The printed design was created by a process that is known as "heat transfer
printing" The adhesive binder used in the application of the printed design failed when these shorts were laundered and dried in accordance with the care label instructions. This resulted in the separation (peeling) of the print from the fabric.
Responsibility: The manufacturer. The manufacturer used an adhesive binder that dissolved during the instructed laundering process
Recommendation: If these shorts fail when laundered as instructed by the care label, they should be returned to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange.
Drycleaner/Launderer: Explain the potential serviceability issues to the customer. Since this garment may prove to be unserviceable when processed by the care label instructions, a signed release of liability should be obtained prior to their acceptance for processing.
