Care Label Instructions: "Dryclean Only"

Problem: A portion of the beaded trimming on this gown contains a plastic resin that is
soluble in standard drycleaning solvent (perchloroethylene). When drycleaned, this beaded trimming dissolved and transferred the plastic resin onto the fabric of the gown, causing discolorations that cannot be corrected.

Responsibility: The manufacturer's. This gown failed when drycleaned according to the care label instructions. This was due to the solubility (in perchloroethylene) of the beaded trimming.

Recommendation: If this gown fails when drycleaned according to the care label instructions, it should be returned to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange.

Drycleaner: Explain the potential serviceability issues to the customer. Since this gown may prove to be unserviceable when processed by the care label instructions, a signed release of liability should be obtained prior to it's acceptance for processing. We have no data as to the serviceability of this garment in alternate solvents.
