Care Label Instructions: "Professionally Dryclean"

Problem: The beaded trimming contained a plastic resin that was soluble in
perchloroethylene. When drycleaned, the beading dissolved, resulting in a total loss of the trimming.

Responsibility: The manufacturer's. This blouse failed when drycleaned according to the care label instructions. This was due to the solubility (in perchloroethylene) of the beaded trimming.

Recommendation: If this blouse fails when drycleaned according to the care label instructions, it should be returned to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange.

Drycleaner: Explain the potential serviceability issues to the customer. Since this blouse may prove to be unserviceable when drycleaned as instructed by the care label, a signed release of liability should be obtained prior to its acceptance for processing. We have no data as to the serviceability of this garment in alternate solvents.
